Soneva Gili is relaxed and informal. The year-round, pleasant temperatures, tropical fabrics requires only daylight and as Polo style shirts, summer dresses and sarongs are ideal. If desired, a jacket or coat in the winter when temperatures can be as low as 23 degrees Celsius, Fahrenheit or 73. The shoes are not practical in the soft sand, so wear sandals or just enjoy the freedom of bare feet.

Mantas are most common between February and April, but they can regularly be seen all through the dry season months of December to April. Whale sharks and hammerheads are most common from February to April and again from August to November.

Other sharks are present throughout the year.The recommended months for confirmed liveaboard departures are from November to May, when the seas are at their calmest.
